The impression of spatial sound

The spatiality of these periphonic sound- compositions is perceivable by a large number of listeners at a performance. Even for listeners outside of the centre of the setup still a convincing sense of spatiality is conveyed. The Ambisonic method is capable of addressing height (=periphony). A full sphere of sound around the listeners is created, the sound may even come from above or below. By the use of 2nd Order Ambisonics an enhanced precision of spatial perception is archived, compared to 1st order. Sounds are perceived independently of the speakers as moving objects, the single sound is liberated, moving independently of the position of the speaker. Usual sorroundsound-techniques work either just in the plane (=Panphony), like 5.1 Surround or just for a single listener with headphones like the Binaural Technique.
