April 16th-19th 2009:

Presentation along with Steven Yi at the Linux Audio Conference 2009 in Parma/ Italy about "Sound And Space". Several methods were demonstrated to place an unlimited number of sounds into a sonic environment ("Spatial Granular Synthesis") and to control it using the programmes "blue" and "Csound". The presentations at the LAC 2009 have been streamed live in the Internet. At the concerts "Condensations" and "Tendenzen" were performed.

November 28th 2008:

For the International Electroacoustic Music Festival of the S. Cecilia Academy of Music the piece "Oscillating Fields" has been selected for performance on 8 loudspeakers. The festival took place from November 18th to 30th 2008 in Rome.

September 20th 2008:

Festival on/off - Limburg.
For ten hours "on/off Limburg" presented latest tendencies of electronic music - via loudspeaker and live (real time instruments). Jan Jacob Hofmann contributed the piece "Horizontal And Vertical Lines".
"on/off Limburg" was organized by the Hessian Radio (hr2-kultur. Neue Musik) in collaboration with the German Society of Electroacoustic Music / Deutsche Gesellschaft für Elektroakustische Musik e.V. (
DEGEM) and the City Council of Limburg.

July 16th 2008:

At the RMA-Conference 2008 (Royal Musical Association Conference 2008 at the University of Aberdeen in cooperation with the IMR, Institute of Musical Research at the University of London), the piece "Condensations" has been presented by Jan Jacob Hofmann. One subject of the conference was 'Sound and Space', especially an examination of the articulation of space in electroacoustic music.
With gentle support of the Hessian Ministery for Arts and Sciences.

April 6th - 10th 2008:

Also in 2008 again the electronic sounds of Jan Jacob Hofmann were heard during the "Luminale" at the "Lichtkokon" of the Fachhochschule Frankfurt - University of Applied Sciences. Starting at 7.30 p.m. several spatial electonic sound compositions were diffused within the installation, which merge with the light and the architecture of the sculpture. In cooperation with the department of architecture of the Fachhochschule Frankfurt - University of Applied Sciences for the Luminale 2008.

Place: Kleiststraße, 60385 Frankfurt am Main.

July 6th - July 8th 2007:

Presentation of the nominiated and winners of the German Sound-Art Award at the Traumzeit-Festival at Duisburg, Germany. The exhibition of sound-sculptures took place at the impressing environment of the store of the ore-hut of the "Meidericher Hüttenwerk", in which until 1984 raw iron has been molten. In cooperation with the Museum for Sculptures Glaskasten Marl.

May 16th 2007:

frequenzen XXXV : "Gegenpole". Concert with Makiko Goto - koto and Jan Jacob Hofmann - electronics. Traditional japanese koto-music has been juxtaposed with the electronial spatial sound-sculptures of Jan Jacob Hofmann. Organized by the Frankfurt Society for New Music FGNM. Place: "raum für kultur" inside of the Gallileo-Building, Frankfurt a.M., Germany.

"Sonic Architecture" at the ART COLOGNE. Along with nomination for the German Sound Art Award of the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl, the prize winners got exhibited along with the nominated artists during the SoundART 2006.

October 11th- 13th 2006:

Several pieces of "Sonic Architecture" programmed at the EuCuE 25.1-5 series of concerts at the Concordia University Electroacoustics of Montreal, Canada. The concerts were transmitted also via internet.

Presentation of new works for spatial music in collaboration with the australian video-artist Dominic Redfern at the interdisciplinary "Interface-Festival" . Friday, September 22nd at the small Reservoir of the Prenzlauer Berg, Diedenhofer Straße. September21st 2006:

"Tensile Elements" has been played at the Harvest Moon Symposium concert during the Mid-Autumn Harvest Moon Festival III, held between the 20-22 September in Montréal, Canada. The concert took place at the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall at 8 p.m. . The concert was curated by Jef Chippewa.



September 2nd 2006:

Jan Jacob Hofmann has been nominated for the German Sound Art Award of the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl in April 2006. The posters of the concept of the nominated along with the sound installations of the winners are presented in the basement of the Museum For Sculpture "Glaskasten" at Marl.
The exhibition for the German Sound Art Award has been inaugurated on September 2nd at the Crailer Platz at Marl. During the whole day there were guided tours through the exhibition. Besides miscellaneous
events (film, video-art, theatre-play and music) three sound-art performances took place.

"grenzenlos" -ISCM World New Music Festival July14th-30th 2006 at Stuttgart, Germany.
The German Society For Elektroacoustic Music (DEGEM) took part at the ISCM World New Music Festival 2006 at Stuttgart with the event " Long night of electro acoustic music". The piece "Condensations" had been choosen by the jury and was performed at the Theaterhaus of Stuttgart.

Sonic Architecture in cooperation with the department of architecture at the Fachhochschule Frankfurt - University of Applied Sciences at the Luminale 2006.
Students of the department of architecture will conceive and construct in cooperation with Prof. Wolfgang Rang a temporary sculpture of sound, light and space. At certain moments the spatial works of  "Sonic Architecture" will be heard inside the installation.

Performance of the piece "Horizontal And Vertical Lines" at the Sounds Electric 05 festival - a weekend festival of electro-acoustic music in association with the Department of Music NUI, Maynooth, Ireland, 2-4 December. Sounds electric is organizied by EAR .
EAR emphasises the performance of new works by up and coming composers. The ensemble repertoire includes solo and ensemble pieces, works for tape, video and interactive composition as well as improvised works.
